Dixie was a prostitute who covered up her crime for poisoning Amanda Hunsaker. She was paid by Shadow Company to commit the crime.

On the night of Amanda's death, Dixie sneakily spread liquid drain cleaner into her barbiturates and ran downstairs so fast to pose herself off as a witness passing by the following day. Sergeant Roger Murtaugh arrived on the scene and, at her request, told the other officers to "lay off," at first believing she needed time to herself after "witnessing" Amanda fall.
When Murtaugh is partnered with Martin Riggs on the case, they deduce Dixie knows more than what was initially spoken. It is unknown what she was up to at this point, but she was definitely inside her house according to authorities. She is killed when her house explodes, unknown the arsonist, Mr. Joshua, turned the heat meter up and caused the explosion. She was more than likely killed before Riggs and Murtaugh could interrogate her and that she would tell them that it was him who hired her to kill Amanda. By the time the paramedics arrived, her body was seen all closed up in a body bag after the firefighters put out the fire after the explosion.
