Fast Eddie was cooking and flipping some burgers in his hamburger stand when LAPD officers Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh came by for lunch. Seeming to know Murtaugh, he takes a break from the grill and lets Murtaugh cook burgers for Eddie and Riggs. As Riggs was about to get his burger, he spotted from afar some young African-American boys up to no good and left his seat to investigate. He sees an apparent drug deal taking place. He attempt to arrest them, but was being shot at. When the first shots were fired, Murtaugh joins in the action and Fast Eddie's brief break comes to an end.
