Hans was a South African diplomat who worked for Arjen Rudd. He is seen being pursued by the LAPD in a red BMW with an illegal shipment of krugerrands in Lethal Weapon 2.
Lethal Weapon 2[]
At the start of the film, Hans was seen being pursued by the police, particularly Riggs and Murtaugh, with an illegally imported shipment of over a million dollars in gold Krugerrand. He's trapped in a circle, and Riggs jumps onto the back of his car and swings Riggs off, shoots at him and takes off. Riggs and Murtaugh go after him again, and once they catch him again, his car wrecks out and gets turned over upside-down, leaving Hans to disappear without the krugerrand.
The next night, he's welcomed into Arjen Rudd's office by Pieter Vorstedt. He regrets to inform him about not being able to bring the krugerrand with him, stating, "I'm sorry, Mr. Rudd. It happens". Rudd seems to forgive him, telling him that, "Sometimes, these things don't go as planned. As you say, they just happen... Hey, Pieter?" Vorstedt then takes his silencer-suppressed gun and shoots Hans in the head, killing him and he falls onto the plastic on the floor, to prevent his blood from staining the floor. His body is being wrapped in the plastic by Vorstedt to be disposed of thereafter.
