In the night, James and the other Four Fathers (Fan Wong, Michael Sing Ku and Li Lum Chung) wait outside a warehouse as Wah Sing Ku is about to pay the Chinese General the money to get the Four Fathers out of prison, but before the General can receive his pay and release the Four Fathers, L.A.P.D. Cops Martin Riggs, Roger Murtaugh, Lee Butters, Ng, Ng's partner and some other officers show up and declare that the money is counterfeit, to which the General responds by shooting Fan Wong and Li Lum Chung. James Wing Chow, him, survives before he was killed (off screen) during the shooting. His killer is unknown.
