Riggs and Rika first meet at Rudds' House after Riggs tries to arrest him but finds out Rudd has Diplomatic Immunity and can't take action. With Riggs' gun-ho nature and quick wit she finds Riggs interesting as well meeting him again while heading back to Arjens' office. Later they have sex together but while at Martins place Rudds' men are sent to deal with Riggs by helicopter. Rika after being dropped off by Riggs at her apartment is kidnapped along with Riggs, ordered to die by Rudd who learnes that Rika has fallen for Riggs.
