Dr. Samuel Cheng is a Chinese-American dentist who was seen with Triad kingpin Uncle Benny Chan.

Uncle Benny Chan, who had an appointment, was in the room with Dr. Cheng. His receptionist went in to tell him Leo is in pain and he's needed right away. Meanwhile, police detectives Martin Riggs, Roger Murtaugh and Lee Butters go into the dental patient room Uncle Benny is in, while Leo Getz distracts the dentist. After Uncle Benny reveals the truth to them, Leo gets his root canal done with the dentist and Dr. Cheng comes back to the patient room to see what is going, just when they're leaving to find the Hongs. He proceeds on with his appointment with Uncle Benny thereafter.
