Victoria Lynn Riggs (1953 – 1984) was the beloved first wife of Martin Riggs, whom she married at some point in 1973. She was killed in a car crash, in what appeared to look like an accident in 1984 by Pieter Vorstedt, which was in reality an attempted murder on Riggs himself, but had gone bad. Her death emotionally destroyed Riggs who struggled to recover from her loss. They were married for 11 years.

As time moved by, Riggs seemed to be turning from his suicidal thoughts, in knowing that Victoria would've wanted him to continue on living life, especially for her. Riggs would visit her grave and tell her, "Merry Christmas, Victoria Lynn. I love you."

As the years went by, as shown in the fourth film, Riggs, having guilt about not visiting her grave enough, comes to speak to her in spirit about his relationship with Lorna and asks her for support in marrying, as Victoria would've wanted him to be happy again and to settle down with another woman once again. Riggs tells her that no matter what, even when marrying Lorna, he'll always having the ring she gave him in their marriage and always have her in his heart forever and he goes to the hospital to meet Lorna and they have their unofficial wedding and the baby together.
